Are you looking around or LOOKING UP ??

My bunch of keys were missing!! It had every imaginable key to every lock on it! What am I going to do?

Keys to different critical part of the church building including my office door, key to the vending machine ( oh no that's the worst no more free candy, sshhhh). We searched all over for, home, car keys! As I was preparing to duplicate new keys from everyone else's keys and order replacement for others which was going to prove to be quite expensive, I said one final prayer " Lord you know how much I need to find these keys for different reasons, please help me to find them in Jesus name". This is your typical ' I give up, nothing is going to happen, kind of prayer, right? not the earth shaking or mountain moving kind that I should be blaring from the mountain top of faith!( sad to say)..... true testimony.....BUT

He heard and He answered!! He merely said in my spirit 'LOOK UP' and as I walked throughout the house looking up I came to the front door entry way foyer...and there was the bunch of keys hanging on a highly placed hardly used key and coat rack (sneering at me I think) !!!! PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!

Our general tendency is to look around at our surroundings, to stay on eye level. Being more prone to see what's happening around us, to our families and friends the neighbors down the block, & the people on the news.

Why ? you may ask. It always takes less effort to look around, to stay on one plane of vision a matter of fact it’s even easier to look down than to look up! (Check out my next article on 'The downfall of looking down'!!)

To slide down, slip down or fall down is a much easier feat than to get up, climb up or stand up.

Who ever heard of someone falling up! That’s because of our great ever present friend called gravity that keeps our feet firmly planted on earth! But gravity should not play a role in our mindset! As God’s creation whether you have accepted Him (yet) or not, His plan for us is to prosper and have good success as our soul (mind, will and emotions ) prospers. 3 John 1:2

The natural day to day achievements can be easily found by looking around, but if we desire to achieve, lay hold on, & find, the things we have LOST, the things we yearn to achieve, we must purposefully and intentionally look UP! David said, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord the maker of Heaven and earth"! Psalm 121:1-2.

So whether it’s Jewish pilgrims seeking protection as they journey towards their city of worship or it’s a modern day single mother trying to see her way through another month of bills, the clarion clear words

still echos down through the corridors of time … I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE HILLS! In other words , I will LOOK UP!

Look up my friend, when the battle gets tough and the road gets rough, and be reminded that He’s a Way-maker. He’ll make a way when there seem to be no way!

Look up my friend, when the storms of life are raging and your boat is taking on water and be reminded that He can say ‘Peace be still’ and calm the storm or ride it out with you...... Either way He will never leave you nor forsake.

When you want to give up, just Look up my friend and find what you might have lost in your battle to survive… the Peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the Joy of the Lord which is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10)!

The Psalmist (Psalm 3:3 ) refers to Him as the LIFTER OF OUR HEADS! He will help us to LOOK UP!

Be Good,

Do Good,

And it will all work together for your GOOD!!

Love from NLG
